AMPLIFIED 2015 | James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God" [for temptation does not originate from God, but from our own flaws]; for God cannot be tempted by [what is] evil, and He Himself tempts no one. |
Bible Question: Thanks for the detailed reply - I was really wondering, though, whether the phrase "sin begets sin" is a literal quotation from the bible? Or does it stem from another source? |
Bible Answer: Evening Bulldog2k, I found "sin begets sin" used by A. Fuller in my electronic copy of Bible Illustrator O.T. Searcher gave the example in 2 Sam. 11 of David and Bathsheba. The same principle is brought out in 2 Tim. 3:13 But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. As Machaira said, an extra-Biblical saying that is used to explain a attribute of sin. I hope this has helped you. In His Hand, Brian |
