NASB | Hebrews 13:15 Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Hebrews 13:15 Through Him, therefore, let us at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name. [Lev 7:12; Is 57:19; Hos 14:2] |
Bible Question:
Do we think of our praises being sacrifices? -How so? How we bring the fruit of our lips before Him? |
Bible Answer: Steve- I have often puzzled over this one. I heard on the radio the other day a woman giving an answer that fits. A sacrifice is giving up something or doing something that is difficult for the Lord, right? She said that when there are times that you don't feel very "spiritual" or thankful or feel like praising God, do it anyway. Don't know if that is what it means, technically, but I find that when I use it, bring Him the sacrifice, He turns it into genuine worship. Debbie |
