Subject: what is the church's responsibilities t |
Bible Note: Dear justme... Good question. In our Baptist circles, I think that it is often the case that all people have to do is walk an aisle. Since they are not taught what membership entails -- let alone what a believer looks like -- they assume that nothing is required of them. Catechesis has been much aligned by teachers unwilling to be held accountable to Scripture. At least in that practice, catechumens were instructed on what the Lord requires of them personally and ecclesiastically. Now, since the populist movements, people think the church exists to serve them. It is interesting that you bring this up. I have recently become familiar with a small congregation in Britain. I have been listening to their sermons.
