Bible Question: can anyone tell me if it says anywhere in the Bible that you are not to hug in the church other than your own spose? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Blueangel... There is no such passage in Scripture. Indeed, we are to greet one another warmly (2 Corinthians 13:12). However, we are called to be pure (Hebrews 10:22) and to abstain from even the appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). We are also called to avoid those things that might cause us to fall (Romans 13:14). So don't begrudge someone who is uncomfortable with hugging. It isn't necessarily an indication of lack of love for the brethren. Indeed, it might be an indication of a person seeking to please his Lord. In Him, Doc |
