Subject: How will their folly "be obvious to all" |
Bible Note: EdB - point taken on the result of godlessness . . . you asked "As we watch men practice the things described in verse 2-5 do we not see the destructive results manifested in their lives? The hurt, the fear, the turmoil, the lack of love, the loneliness, the desperation, the separation?" I suspect that many of our churches are filled with sand dwellers. Yet we've been instructed to build on the "Rock." Jesus didn't ignore sin or the result of sin in His midst . . . Additional thoughts: 2 Tim 3:1 "But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come." Are we not in those difficult times because of man's "folly?" IMO, "they will not make further progress" follows the activity of godless men in v6; to me this is encouraging. Neither will the deciever or those being decieved make any more progress than God allows (their folly will be obvious to all). To me, it is a reminder of God's supremacy and sovereignty. It is also imo, a sign of the times (v 1) in which we live. "But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."
