Bible Question: What does it require for a Christian to get wealth using biblical principles |
Bible Answer: Hi alexo, Don't neglect or dismiss the riches we already have in Christ, my friend. Eph 3:8, "To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ". Much could be said, but allow me to share two brief observations. While there is nothing inherently wrong with wealth in and of itself, motivation plays a key role. 1. There is no exact "formula" to get wealth. You would have to first define what is wealth and how much is enough? Then, why would you want to seek wealth? There are many principles found in the Book of Proverbs. 2. What I would recommend, if you haven't done so already is to seek the Lord and Him alone! What does the Lord desire for you? Commit your desires to Him through serious prayer. Consider Proverbs 3:5-6 as well as the warning in 1 Tim. 6:9-11. Paul prefaces the warning by stating that, "But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment." 1 Tim 6:9 "But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction." 1 Tim 6:10 "For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." 1 Tim 6:11 "But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness." I believe it a far greater endeavor to seek the Savior verses "wealth". The Apostle's plea in Phil. 3:10 is that he "...may know Him and the power of His resurrection..." Ultimately, you should seek the Lord and His direction, but make sure your motivation is right. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
