Bible Question: Please help me understand this passage in practical terms. I have two elderly aunts. They are cared for in their home by friends and paid help. They look to me for visits about once every 2 months because I live about 3 hours away. Now I have a possibility to move across the country. Should I stay in this area out of obedience to this passage to visit my aunts on a more frequent basis than would be allowed if I moved? |
Bible Answer: Do you really believe a visit once every two months to be fulfillment of 1 Tim 5:16? This forum is not a right place to seek counsel. You need to talk to your Pastor or someone that is accountable to you and to God. Here are somethings you might consider. What was your motivate for visiting them once every 2 months? Who oversees their affairs? If it is you. Is there anyone that can do this besides you? If your the only one can you do it remotely. If you leave and they need you are you willing to come back to them? If you leave and they perhaps changed their wills to exclude you would you mind? Please don't answer these questions on the forum they are merely things for you to answer for yourself. Before you do anything, talk to someone that can be trusted to advise you in a Godly and responsible manner. EdB |
