Bible Question: im pentecostal woman, havent been for a long time. i wear locked hair and im wondering if it is inappropriate.i dont understand what the bible means by braided hair, are we or are we not to wear our hair braided? and does the same apply to matted hair? |
Bible Answer: Your adornment must not be merely external--braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; 1 Pet 3:3 (NASB) AMPLIFIED 1 Peter 3:3 Let not yours be the [merely] external adorning with [elaborate] interweaving and knotting of the hair, the wearing of jewelry, or changes of clothes; If this verse prohibited women from braiding the hair and wearing gold jewelry, then it would also prohibit them from putting on dresses. In 1 Peter 3:3 notice the use of the word "merely". |
