Bible Question:
One church teaches that people should wear their best clothes - suit and ties when they come to church. Another church says come in your blue jeans. Is there a biblical principle that addresses this? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Mat 22:2,11-13; 1 Tim 2:9-10; Jam 5:2, 1 Pet 3:1-6 ... God's day to you, Val, Most of the dress principles are for women ... and it is to not be flashy. One expection is dressing for the king (Mat 22:2,11-13). I think dressing up was for the Lord and in rural America, most people were farmers and didn't wear suits/ dresses during the week. Sunday was a special day. But things have changed. S |
