Bible Question: Do you pray for only the people written in the lamb's Book of Life? |
Bible Answer: Hi, wrbrown... Welcome to the forum! Scripture tells us to pray for all men. That probably means that we pray for some of His own and others who are not. Charles Spurgeon once said something that might have some bearing on the question: "If the Lord had put a yellow stripe down the backs of the elect, I'd go up and down the street lifting up shirt tails, finding out who had the yellow stripe, and then I'd give them the gospel. But God didn't do it that way. He told me to preach the gospel to every creature that 'whosoever will may come.'" The gospel call is free to all men. Consequently, we pray for all men.
