AMPLIFIED 2015 | Philippians 4:8 ¶ Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. |
Bible Question:
Hello- My husband is a really great guy. I love him SO much! But I am getting really irritated becuase he plays this "World of Warcraft" game non-stop, like hours and hours a day. To me, it seems like a sin to be that obsessed, but he says that it's because his job is emotionally draining (which is true) and he needs to escape from reality. I know it's wrong to nag and bother him about it constantly, but I feel like he's sinning, but I don't know what biblical verses I can use to back this up. Am I wrong? What would you do? I want to help him, but maybe I am doing more harm by judging him? Help! |
Bible Answer: Hello Samantha432, You have reason to be concerned, and I understand the problem because I used to do the same with chess. If your husband wants peace from his job may I suggest immersing himself in God and Scripture rather than a game. Phil 4:8-9 (ESV) Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me––practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Steve |
