Bible Question: Goodmorning, I have question. On friday night service I was given a assignment:to write down my bigest fear and confront that fear; because the devil works out the root of my fear. Is it through confessing the word of GOD that I can overcome my fears? |
Bible Answer: Godchaser1, You have been given some excellent answers thus far, but let me add this. The command fear not is given well over 100 times within scripture. For something to be repeated this many times God has to feel that it is a very important topic and wishes to give us His assurence. As has already been said we over come fear by beliving God that is taking God at His word. You see that is the foundation of the whole Christan faith that we belive God. We belive Him for our salvation and base our eternal destiny on this belief. So why don't we belive Him for His guidence through this life. You see overcoming fear has nothing to do with positively confessing scripture or anything elese it is all about getting into God's living Word and having a close personal relationship with Him so that through HIm and His Holy Spirit we can believe His word and through that overcome this world and all it throws at us. In short our whole relationship and fellowship with Christ is based on us taking Him at His word. As DBR has said perfect love cast out all fear and God has that perfect love for us just look to the cross for the evidence He kept His word then and will now we just have to learn to belive it. Hope this helps. In The Love Of Christ, tgc |
