NASB | Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Philippians 3:20 But [we are different, because] our citizenship is in heaven. And from there we eagerly await [the coming of] the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; |
Bible Question: Why do you do this? Do you truly wait eagerly? Why? |
Bible Answer: Those who have the hope of going to heaven are waiting "earnestly" for 'the transformation of their lowly bodies' to be like Jesus' glorious body. (Philippians 3:21) What body does Jesus now have? "A spiritual body." (1 Corinthians 15:42-50) When will he "change" their bodies to 'spiritual bodies'? "When he comes" and when the kingdom of God comes. (1 Corinthians 15:23, 50) Revelation 11:15-18 shows that this event would be associated with 'the nations becoming angry.' Matthew 24:7, 8 calls it 'nation rising against nation.' Acts 4:25 says: "The nations rage." These events fit the First World War onwards. (Revelation 6:2-4; 12:7-12) I'm eagerly waiting to "inherit the earth." (Matthew 5:5)Stokeyhk. |
