AMPLIFIED 2015 | Philippians 2:12 ¶ So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ]. |
Bible Question: can a peson lose his salvation |
Bible Answer: hi 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. If we do not stay repentant keep building a personel relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer and fasting yes we can lose our salvation. Phil 2:12 says work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Becuse maybe we repented of our sins and been baptized in Jesus name and recieved the Holy Ghost isn't a once saved always saved automatic. If we allow ourselves to fall into a backslidden state we can be lost.Luk 13:23-30 - Our Saviour came to guide men's consciences, not to gratify their curiosity. Ask not, How many shall be saved? But, Shall I be one of them? Not, What shall become of such and such? But, What shall I do, and what will become of me? Strive to enter in at the strait gate. This is directed to each of us; it is, Strive ye. All that will be saved, must enter in at the strait gate, must undergo a change of the whole man. Those that would enter in, must strive to enter. Here are awakening considerations, to enforce this exhortation. Oh that we may be all awakened by them! They answer the question, Are there few that shall be saved? But let none despond either as to themselves or others, for there are last who shall be first, and first who shall be last. If we reach heaven, we shall meet many there whom we little thought to meet, and miss many whom we expected to find.HERE IS A SECTION OF COMMENTARY FROM MATTHEW HENRY THAT MAY HELP ANSWER YOUR QUESTION. |
