Bible Question: It's so hard talking to my parents, i don't think they'd understand |
Bible Answer: It is tough being young because you are so eager to know what is ahead of you, but knowing how to get there well is where the commandments come in. The things you are told you know. The things you have experienced brings forth wisdom. Some wisdom brings joy and some brings pain. Your parents have this wisdom they have been here a while longer and no doubt chose to spare you the painful wisdoms. So often when they seem not to understand, what they are really doing is loving you like a parent does. God gave us laws to live by so that he could spare us from the painful wisdoms, because he loves us like a parent does. If a child was left alone in the wilderness he would most likely become like an animal. It would become a survival thing, you see. A child who is nurtured and loved (which unfortunately includes laws) has the time to mature. Take this opportunity to understand your parents, believe me there will be a time when you'll wish you could crawl back up in there laps. It probably seems like such a short time going by so fast now, imagine what it would be like to be 20 and then 40 and then 60, you have lots of time...take it. Try to avoid learning too much too soon, it will all be there later when you are ready for it. Hope this helps! |
