AMPLIFIED 2015 | Deuteronomy 24:5 ¶ "When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out [to fight] with the army nor be charged with any duty; he shall be free at home for one year and shall bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken. |
Bible Question: Where do you find in the Bible that a man should not work the first year of marriage? I think probably Old Testament. |
Bible Answer: I would love to try to convince my wife that I shouldn't of worked for a year after we got married. I think you are thinking of Deuteronomy 24:5 where the new husband was exempt from military duty so he could start his new family and setup his household. Brad |
