Bible Question: What was the significance of wearing clothing that did not pertain to one's gender? Do we abide by that today? |
Bible Answer: Should a man wear a hat to shield his face from the sun? Should a man wear sunglasses to protect his eyes from the sun's light rays? Should a man wear a jacket to protect him from the cold? Should a man wear pants to cover his nakedness? If your answer is yes, then apply these same principles to the opposite sex. Should a man wear women's panties? Should a man wear a bra? Should a woman wear men's jockey (briefs)? I think not! There's a principle behind every one of God's laws. It's not what you wear, but rather, WHY you wear it that determines whether it's a sin or not. Some women wear pants because it's necessary for the type of job they may have. Some wear it when exercising. It depends on the occasion. Jesus said judge not according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgement. However, that only comes by spending time with our lawgiver, Jesus Christ. |
