Bible Question: Kairos vs. Chronos..In Ephesians 6:18 the word used for time is kairos. I have always understand this to mean a perscribed period of time vs. time in general---chronos. It was my understanding, always, of this verse that we are being called to pray when the Lord prescibes a stated time for us to pray for a specific person or situation. I am a bit confused with these two Greekk words. Any help?? Thanks! |
Bible Answer: In this instance I think it simply means to be alert at all times. In Mk 10;30 kairos refs to this lifetime and is contrasted with the coming age. chronos, the duration of a period kairos, stresses it marked by certain features. chronos marks quantity-kairos,quality. I hope this helps......... |
