NASB | Ephesians 6:13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 6:13 Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. |
Bible Question:
Eph 6:13 to 19 stated a number of armour, eg gird loins with truth, helmet of salvation etc. I would want to know why specific armour was mentioned for specific parts of the body. I believe that there must be some significance of having loins girded with truth instead of any other part of the body. Why do we need righteousness for breastplate and not as helmet for the head? eze |
Bible Answer: The significance of this armor is that it is spiritual, the battle is not against flesh and blood. While which piece covers which part would be helpful to meditate on I do not believe it is important in understanding the protection each piece provides. Phil |
