AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace [God's remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. Subject: If we sin, can we still go to heaven? |
Bible Note: First of all, Yes the bible does say that "our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost" but where do you interpret that to say that smoking is a sin and go even further that she will not go to heaven. I thought no one was perfect and without sin except Jesus Christ and that is what grace was for. 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 says 7Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me--to keep me from exalting myself! 8Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. 9And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness " Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Secondly, since no one is perfect except Jesus are we all not going to Heaven because of the "thorn in our sides" such as: overeating or eating things that are not good for us, drinking, hypocrisy, greed, etc. I think she clearly stated that she is trying/praying to quit and that is all she needs to do. As far as "practicing sin" I think that is something done without conviction from the Holy Ghost and she would not even have asked the question. |
