Bible Question: What is God's unconditional love? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Dickinson! Ephesians 1:3-8 Many times we think of ourselves as sinners (which we are) and undeserving (which is true) yet He loves us anyway (which is also true). If we only think of it from the point of view He "loves us anyway" I fear we miss the depth of it. If we would also consider His "unconditional love" from where it starts so to speak it seems to me to fully explain it. Or perhaps I should say it gives me a much better understanding of it then I once had. Consider His sovereignty! I think we can safely say that His unconditional love is of His own sovereign will to do so. In that we have security that it is His choice and not based on anything we say or do. His choice not influenced by mankind or anything else! On His own and to His glory He has chosen this. It is to be this way because God Himself has made it so! It should give us confidence that this is not from the heart of man who's heart can change but rather from God's who never changes! Steve |
