NASB | Galatians 6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 6:1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any sin, you who are spiritual [that is, you who are responsive to the guidance of the Spirit] are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness [not with a sense of superiority or self-righteousness], keeping a watchful eye on yourself, so that you are not tempted as well. |
Bible Question:
Recent discussions here on the forum have led me to compare Galatians 6:1 with 1 Corinthians 7:40. Could I interest anyone in comparing those verses and giving us your thoughts? From the heart, Ray |
Bible Answer: 1 Corn. 7:40. In this chapter, Paul is talking to the married and the unmarried. Gal. 6:1 Paul is speaking of a christian that is over taken in a fault. A fault is a mistake made, but if that mistake continues to be made, it becomes sin, and we that are strong are to bear the infirmities of the week, or consider ourselve that we might end up in the same predicterment. 1 Corn. 7:40 dose not suggest doubt in any way. the phrase is better translated " I consider also that I have the spirit of God. |
