Bible Question (short): Prophecy of Christ or Not? |
Question (full): Genesis 12:3 "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." When God called him, Abraham moved out in faith from Ur to Haran and finally to Canaan. God then established His covenant with him. He would found a great Nation that would be blessed, but other Nations will also be blessed through His descendants. Israel is the Nation that came from Abraham and through his family tree Christ was born to save humanity. Could you be specific and show me how you can read Jesus into the short text of Genesis 12:3. I would appreciate the explanation. Is Genensis 12:3 a direct reference to Israel or does it have some prophecy about Jesus? |
