AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 3:28 There is [now no distinction in regard to salvation] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you [who believe] are all one in Christ Jesus [no one can claim a spiritual superiority]. [Rom 3:22; 1 Cor 12:13] |
Bible Question: I need input on the validity of women as pastors. Many teach that it is not acceptable and quote the "let not a woman teach over a man" scripture. Still others say that the scripture which states that we are no longer "male nor female, Jew nor Gentile, etc. in God's eyes" means that men and women are or can be called to the pastoral ministry. I tend to think of that scripture, however, as relating to our spirits and not talking about vocations. There is a lot of literature on the "it's not allowed" side; however, can anyone give me reason, backed up by scripture, for the "it's okay to be a woman pastor" side of the issue? |
Bible Answer: I was just reading the latest excerpts on the forum and when it comes to women serving in the ministry - I believe the address of II John 1:1 was addressing a female pastor. I don't know if her husband was a pastor and may be passed away and the position became hers. But, Apostle John did not mention a husband; sounds like a single parent. Look at the scriptures outlined in the discussion of "Women being silent" and hear what the spirit of the Lord is saying. Be blessed. |
