NASB | Galatians 2:2 It was because of a revelation that I went up; and I submitted to them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but I did so in private to those who were of reputation, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 2:2 I went up [to Jerusalem] because of a [divine] revelation, and I put before them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles. But I did so in private before those of reputation, for fear that I might be running or had run [the course of my ministry] in vain. |
Bible Question (short): Was Paul checking his correctness? |
Question (full): Do I understand this to mean that Paul presented the Gospel that he was preaching to the Gentiles to "those of reputation" (other apostles?) so that he could make sure he was not out in left field? |
