Subject: Is tithing a command for chriatians? |
Bible Note: Hello Vintage, Allow me to add a comment if I may:-) Malachi 3 is used quite often to support "tithing" as being "for us", yet it cannot be divorced from it's context. In verse 6 it addresses, "O children of Jacob"! The questions 'who is speaking', 'who is being spoken to', and 'what is being spoken about' are critical to understanding any passage- particularly this one. I don't believe this passage addresses the Church- the Body of Christ. I'd refer to 2 Cor. 9:6-7. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
