Bible Question: I want to know scriptures that address self sufficiency. I know needing and trusting God in all areas of our lives is the way we should live before Him daily. Can someone reading this respond with some scriptures I can meditate on? Thanks David |
Bible Answer: Hello Dennis, I know of nothing in scripture that addresses "self-sufficiency" positively! In other words, scripture speaks to the futility of us having any sufficiency in and of ourselves!. You might try checking a concordance and look up "Sufficient" or, "Sufficiency". Consider these scriptures: Prov 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding." Prov 3:6 "In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight." 2 Cor 3:5 "Not that we are adequate (sufficient) in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy (sufficiency) is from God," (NASB) 2 Cor 9:8 "And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;" (NASB) God is the ultimate source of our meaning, purpose, and sufficiency. I hope this is of some help, BradK |
