AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 12:10 So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God's strength]. |
Bible Question: scripture on why as christians we go through trials. I know the Lord says we will but why suffer and go through them? |
Bible Answer: Hi LovemyLord, "Why go through them?" Thats a good question. I would say because Jesus want's to build strong Christians characters with strong Christian character. We seldom learn anything of great value when things are going smoothly. We tend to just sit back and enjoy the ride. But God want's us to grow and learn to be fighters for truth and His Holy Word, and in spreading His Gospel of Salvation to the lost world. This is a tough job that takes mentally and spiritually tough people to do and do well. Paul writes in his 2nd letter to the Corinthians: "And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Cor 12:9-10 And in Romans 15:1: "Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves."
