NASB | 1 Corinthians 8:1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 8:1 Now about food sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge [concerning this]. Knowledge [alone] makes [people self-righteously] arrogant, but love [that unselfishly seeks the best for others] builds up and encourages others to grow [in wisdom]. |
Bible Question:
can you please be kind enough to tell me if it's wrong to have a Buddha satue in the house of a christian even if it's for the purpouse of art? |
Bible Answer: Let me answer with another question. Do you think that it could cause a younger Christian, who fails to grasp that Buddha is nothing and that the decoration is nothing more than an item, could it cause such a one who sees it in your house to stumble? 1 Corinthians chapters 8-10 might be good reading for you. Romans 14 also. As for me, I don't judge you for it but... Rom 14:6 "Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind." In Love, Beja |
