Subject: Does abandoning make you an unbeliever |
Bible Note: Reading all of these posts...and it just seems that people try to use the scriptures more to justify..leaving then to find a way to reconcile. Which is Gods will..There was a covenant made between a wife, husband AND GOD Treat them as an Unbeliver does not mean that they are an unbeliever. I believe that means how would you witness to an unbeliever? As for a believing husband leaving? It is beyond me why a believing spouse would leave..Jesus says not to. If you hold alliegence to Christ why would you? Jesus is very clear that there is only one way Permitted...(notice I say permitted not commanded) Reconcililation should always be the goal that is God's will. He hates divorce, and commands wives not to leave their husbands and husband not to divorce their wives.. That one way is sexual immorality, sexual umfaithfullness, unchasity...Fornication... AS for it causing a believer to be an unbeliever.. In Matthew we are told if a brother sins against us go and show him his sin. If he doesn't listen take witnesses, and if he still doesn't listen, take it to the church...if he still doesn't listen then treat him as you would an unbeliever. this is a disaplinary measure for Christians that refuse to repent of their sin. He then talks about what you bind on earth you bind in heaven,basically..what the Church approves or rebukes is what you should be listening to, for you are to submit to the church leaders and to not do so...(repenting of your sin) you are therefore going against God. |
