Bible Note: Dear emills, Welcome to the forum. I not convinced that Paul intended this passage (1 Corinthians 12:3) to be the kind of test you are trying to make of it. Regardless, it isn't the mere repetition of a phrase that he is talking about. Instead, what he means is that no one can acknowledge himself as a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, except by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
