Bible Question:
I would like a pastor or someone very knowledgeable about scripture to answer this question: Supposing a man accepts Jesus Christ as his personal saviour. Two years later, he gives in to homosexual behaviour and continues in that lifestyle until the day he dies. Will this man go to heaven? Please provide scripture |
Bible Answer: 1Corinthians 6:9 says: 9. What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God's kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10. nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God's kingdom. Or, as the verse is paraphrased in The Living Bible: "Homosexuals-will have no share in his kingdom." Leviticus 18:22 *** 22 "'And you must not lie down with a male the same as you lie down with a woman. It is a detestable thing. Also, it should be noted that homosexuality had been condemned by God before the law of Moses was even given. The account about Sodom and Gomorrah, referred to earlier, proves this fact; those cities were destroyed by God over 400 years before the law of Moses came into existence. Jesus was aware of that.-Luke 17:28, 29, 32. So I ask you. If God destroyed all of those people for Homosexual acts do you think he has changed his mind now to allow it. Another thing that we have to keep in mind is that God reads the heart. And a persons actions will reveal what is in his heart. As lovers of God and of his word we do not want to disobey him. But, if we happen to do what is bad in his eyes, he will forgive us if we show a truly repenting heart and change our corse of life to do what is good. First, you must make a conscious decision to change. Acts 3:19, |
