AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 15:32 What good has it done me if, [merely] from a human point of view, I fought with wild animals at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised [at all], LET US EAT AND DRINK [enjoying ourselves now], FOR TOMORROW WE DIE. [Is 22:13; 2 Cor 1:8, 9] |
Bible Question (short): Resurrection or Easter sunday? |
Question (full): Why do we say Easter, rather than Resurrection Sunday or someting like this? I am concerned that easter is so connected with candy and colored eggs, and baskets with goodies that the real meaning is all but lost in the world outside the church. I believe in our culture today most people have disconnected themselves from the Holy Day of Jesus Christ being alive as proof of His divinity. Anyone else finding this hard to deal with in the church they serve. I find this can be a real issue to not hand out "easter baskets either durring the service or afterwards. I am not a pastor, but in the church we were going to the pastor made a big issue of handing out baskets durring the serivce. Justme |
