AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 14:35 If there is anything they want to learn [that is, if they have questions about anything being said or taught], they are to ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to talk in church. |
Bible Question (short): the serpent |
Question (full): 1 Corinthians 14:34-36 34Wives must not disrupt worship, talking when they should be listening, 35asking questions that could more appropriately be asked of their husbands at home. God's Book of the law guides our manners and customs here. Wives have no license to use the time of worship for unwarranted speaking. 36Do you both women and men imagine that you're a sacred oracle determining what's right and wrong? Do you think everything revolves around you? With the above reference, I would agree. However, what I wanted to know is this: Genesis 3:8-15 8When they heard the sound of GOD strolling in the garden in the evening breeze, the Man and his Wife hid in the trees of the garden, hid from GOD. 9GOD called to the Man: "Where are you?" 10He said, "I heard you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked. And I hid." 11GOD said, "Who told you you were naked? Did you eat from that tree I told you not to eat from?" 12The Man said, "The Woman you gave me as a companion, she gave me fruit from the tree, and, yes, I ate it." 13GOD said to the Woman, "What is this that you've done?" "The serpent seduced me," she said, "and I ate." 14GOD told the serpent: "Because you've done this, you're cursed, cursed beyond all cattle and wild animals, Cursed to slink on your belly and eat dirt all your life. 15I'm declaring war between you and the Woman, between your offspring and hers. He'll wound your head, you'll wound his heel." Both Adam and Eve were found guilty of course. As well as the serpent (who was Satan, correct?). Now, what I meant is in verse 15 where war is declared between the two that is Satan and the Woman, what is that saying? Is man not at war? Also, about the offspring at war? Whose? Does it mean the actual serpents of the earth? I really don't think it does, but I just want to know. |
