Bible Note: Greetings strts5! It is an interesting conversation on the passage! Your post does not reflect what the scripture actually says. The scripture does say "no one understands" in reference to the tongue being spoke. However, it does not say "It is an unknown language". I also do not believe that you will find in scripture anywhere that "glossa" referring to the gift is ever used to reference an "unknown language" (i.e. as if unknown to mankind). If it is please point it out for me :-) It may be that those of the Corinthian church might not have "known" the tongue but neither would a room full of English speaking people who didn't understand French if you were there praying in French. That does not mean it is an unknown language unless we are only referring to it being unknown to the English speaking people in the room. Steve |
