Bible Answer: "Judging the body rightly" has a lot to do with eating and drinking worthily. I felt your other question touched on this. The church as the body of Christ is a familiar theme in 1 Corinthians. A man must examine himself, he is no better than anyone else at the table. "We who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread." (1 Cor 10:17) The problem in Corinth is that they didn't see past their own desires. Paul is saying "If you're hungry, eat at home. Here, at the Lord's table, it's important that everyone partakes. You are all a part of one body." |
