NASB | 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word--He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]. |
Bible Question (short): God Not Give More Than We Can Bear? |
Question (full): I have heard it said many a time that God will not give you more than you are able to bear in regards to trials and tribulations as, "God will not give you more than you are able". Are there any scriptures to support this? Jesus died, Peter and Paul both say we are called to suffer, even if it means death. Who can bear death? Is it true God will not give you more than you cn bear? blessings abound, bowler |
