Bible Question: IN THE SCRIPTURES, GOD SAID FOR JACOB I LOVED AND ESUA I HATED. HOW COULD A GOD OF LOVE HATE AN INNOCENT BABY? |
Bible Answer: There are two passages that may help to explain this one is Romans 9:11-16. Here it states "for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God's purpose according to His choice would stand". This shows as it goes on to state that our standing is by God's choice not our doing. Yet another passage is I Peter 1:2,3 "who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God". This passage tells us that his choosing is according to foreknowledge. This is hard for us humans to understand, but God knows the end from the beginning. God is not bound by time as we are. Therefore we can consider that Esau was not yet born, a baby and an adult and already dead, all at the same time for God. There is no yesterday or tomorrow for God, it is all now. Hard for us to comprehend, but Esau was "an innocent baby" and "an immoral and Godless person" Heb 12:6 at the same time for God. |
