NASB | Romans 7:4 ¶ Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 7:4 ¶ Therefore, my fellow believers, you too died to the Law through the [crucified] body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. |
Bible Question:
I understand that Christ fulfilled the whole law. I guess my next question is in what way did He fulfill this law. In the dictionary fulfill means to: -To bring into actuality -To carry out (an order, for example). -To measure up to; satisfy -To bring to an end; complete Today, we seem to assume Christ destroyed(blotted out) some parts of the law(i.e. feasts, sabbath days) but we still observe other parts. I'd like some biblical understanding as to in what way Chirst fulfilled the law. For example, did He totally blot out the observance of things like feast days or did He, through His death complete or in some way satisfy the law, so that we should be observing these feasts in a different way. (for example, no longer carrying out a sacrifice by killing an animal, but still observing the feast days for the other reasons God prescribed, like remembering all that He had done in the past |
Bible Answer: Christ fulfill the Law? Yes! If you observe the two great commandments, what is it in the law of moses did you disobey. Nothing He is not destroy the law or any part of it: Mt 5:17 ΒΆ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 17. Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 18. Mt 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus Christ just show us how to implement it. Sabbath: Jesus Christ do good things in sabbath whats wrong with that? Mr 3:4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. Mt 12:1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. It is the implementation my friend: Included in the law of moses the teaching of "Thou shall not Kill" but it is also included in the same law whosoever saw did anything in the day of sabbath is punishable by death(stoned to death) there are conflict such as teaching. Another example: Joh 8:4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Joh 8:5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? Joh 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 7. Joh 8:8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. Joh 8:9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. Why Jesus Christ not allows those people to stone that woman? Adultery is punishable by death in the law of moses. How about the teaching "thou shall not kill"? If Jesus Christ allow those people to kill that woman by stoning her It is the same that He allows those people to disobey the teaching of "Thou shall not Kill". It is in the implementation my friend, Follow the two great commandments that given to us, there is no conflict on it. I hope it would helps, Johnny |
