NASB | Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 6:4 We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walk habitually in newness of life [abandoning our old ways]. |
Bible Question: How many ways can you use baptism as a witness? please list. |
Bible Answer: Only one, if I understand your question. "We have been buried with Him [Christ] through baptism into death" to "walk in newness of life." --Romans 6:4. The clear inference is we have thereby witnessed once and for all that we have become new creations in Christ Jesus. Paul is, of course, writing here about believer's baptism, water baptism, immersion, hence the metaphor "buried with Him." I somehow fear I've not fully spoken to your question. You may be talking about something else. Care to elaborate? |
