AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 6:3 Or are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? |
Bible Question:
What does it mean that we are baptized into His death? I think I understand but I am not sure. |
Bible Answer: Hi Pattii; When we are baptised,we are putting on Christ. In baptism, we are identifying with His Death, and then when we come up out of the water, we are Identifying with His Resurrection. We are then Born Again, in Newness of life, we are new creatures in Christ. 2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Rom 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. Col 2:12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 1 Pet 3:21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you--not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience--through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I hope that answers it for you. Have a happy!! |
