Bible Question:
Abraham Man of Faith or a Coward? Ge 20:10 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing? Ge 20:11 And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake. Scared for his own life ready to give up his wife in order to save his own. Ready to kill His son Isaac as burn offering but scared to lose his own life... Heb 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Is he a man of Faith or a coward |
Bible Answer: Abraham was human man. He had failings and triumphs in his life. If we read the account of Abraham all his triumphs came when he was following God’s leading and all his failures occurred when he stepped out and did it Abraham’s way. At times Abraham displayed magnificent faith and at other times he displayed all the failings of humanity. That is why the story of Abraham is so important to us. It shows we don’t have to be some super human, or have faith beyond our reach. All we need is faith enough to allow ourselves to trust God with our lives and to be lead of God for us to succeed in the tasks God has set before us. |
