NASB | Romans 3:4 May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, "THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 3:4 Certainly not! Let God be found true [as He will be], though every person be found a liar, just as it is written [in Scripture], "THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED [by sinful men]." [Ps 51:4] |
Bible Question (short): Jesus not God in the flesh |
Question (full): I have a question concerning the following: 'Jesus was only a perfect man, not God in flesh, Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, pp. 306.' John 1:1-2 says: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. So, given that, The Word equals God. In verse 14, 'And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.' So if the Word equals God (the Word was God) and the Word (God) was made flesh. And if John 1 is speaking of Jesus, how is He NOT God (the Word) in the flesh (the Word was made flesh)? |
