AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 3:25 whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [life-giving] sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation (propitiation) by His blood [to be received] through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness [which demands punishment for sin], because in His forbearance [His deliberate restraint] He passed over the sins previously committed [before Jesus' crucifixion]. |
Bible Question (short): Earlier He passed over; Now the Lamb |
Question (full): In the Greek the verse talks of the forbearance of God. It does not say "in His forbearance", so I would say that the verse should read similar to the KJ. KJ, "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness." Or, with the use of a comma in the NASB: "whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation is His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance, God passed over the sins previously comitted; 26 for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time,..." Righteousness of God, verse 22 His righteousness, verse 25. God is one, verse 30. Question: How many pronouns of Deity in verse 25? From the heart, Ray |
