NASB | Romans 16:2 that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 16:2 that you may receive her in the Lord [with love and hospitality], as God's people ought to receive one another. And that you may help her in whatever matter she may require assistance from you, for she has been a helper of many, including myself. |
Bible Question:
Greetings all! Based on Romans 16:1-2, do you believe that this verse is providing us an example to continue to carry on and fellowship with another church should we be removed (regardless of the circumstances) from the church that we had worshipped in before? |
Bible Answer: Ask not what the church can do for you, but what you can do for her ... My dear brother, we can move and serve God in a new place. Those in the old place need to understand you sensed the call ... and accept it. I also would hope that we are willing to change places we go when there is a need. A church may have an abundance of people with spiritual and natural gifts ... while another (in the same area) may be lacking. If the pastors would meet weekly for prayer and fellowship ... and let their needs be known ... I'd hope the members would be willing to serve God in a new place ... even if it isn't the same demonination or major group. |
