Subject: Christian Opposition Polictian SINNED! |
Bible Note: compudex - Yes, 'tis true, to call someone a politician is not always to laud him! Reminds me of a story the origin of which is probably quite anonymous, but it has been attributed to several well-known politicians including one of our ex-presidents. The story goes that a man and his wife were out for a leisurely Sunday afternoon stroll. As they passed by a certain cemetery, they saw an inscription upon a grave marker that read, "Here lies an honest man and a politician." Remarked the man to his wife, "Look, dear, there are two people buried in that grave." ...... Well, as "they" say, politics is a dirty business. But somebody has to do it :-) ...... It's always been important, I think, to know the platform upon which a political party stands before identifying oneself with it; and these days it is of particular importance for a Christian to examine very closely not only the political parties but the candidates as well before pledging his allegiance to a political party or casting his vote for a candidate for public office. ..... This is my first time to respond to any of your posts. I've been reading them with a great deal of interest however. --Hank |
