Bible Note: Hi Ed I agree about Paul and maybe I came across wrong. I saw him using the law, ie asserting his rights, to his advantage, thus resisting the injustice that was done. I also agree that Montag makes an interesting argument... I am curious to know the way(s), the founding fathers, the anti slavery groups and the pro civil rights groups SHOULD have gone about gaining those things which they were seeking. If they DID NOT have legal recourses as Paul did, was there another biblical way for them? As I typed that last question, I Tim 2:1-2 comes to mind: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. oh!! that's a HARD pill to swallow... praying for your oppressor... but it's in there so maybe that was the answer...
