Bible Question (short): Is sinner's prayer in the Bible? |
Question (full): I am new to this, but I am trying....... I see what was answered concering the sinner's prayer, but, neither did I see any scripture references in the answer, nor, have I ever found one use of the sinner's prayer in the Bible. In Acts 9, Paul was told to go to Damascus; it would be told to him what he "must" do. The referenced scripture and those that follow seem to indicate that praying, by itself, was insufficient for Paul. Acts 22:16 tells us what Paul "must" do: NASB Acts 22:16 'Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.' Paul had spent three days in prayer. Can we not determine that "calling on His name" must be a physical act of obedience, rather than a vocalization? |
