Bible Question:
Hi, today I want to know how to spread God's word, what are we really saposed to do? I mean are saposed to go to door to door to try and get peopel to turn in their free will without forcing them? Are we saposed to go to church only to try and save people? How are we really saposed to do this, if you could help me with God's word and what he says about those things so that I may put into act God's word. Thank You Jason |
Bible Answer: Hi Jason, The Book of Acts gives us numerous examples, a few are: Act 5:42 And every day they did not cease teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus the Christ in the temple, and house to house. Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue on every sabbath persuading both Jews and Greeks. Act 17:17 Then, indeed, he addressed the Jews in the synagogue, and those worshiping, also in the market every day, to those happening to be there. In these verses, the apostles preached and witnesses in the Temple, in the synogogues, house to house, and in the marketplace. They went to where the people were, wherever they were. Jesus gave a very simple instruction on how to witness: Mark 5:19 But Jesus did not allow him, but said to him, Go to your house, to your own, and report to them what the Lord has done to you and had mercy on you. Jesus also tells us: Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. So what is the good news? That Jesus died, and rose from the grave, paying for every sin. That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Always remember: 1 Corinthians 3:6-11 (6) I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. (7) So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. (8) Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. (9) For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. (10) According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. (11) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Pray, then pray, and when you have prayed, pray. We are all called to be ready to give an answer for the faith within us, but we are not all called to be Billy Graham. The important thing is to follow as the Spirit leads, so that we are doing the particular work God wants us to be doing. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. God's got it all mapped out. We just have to follow His lead. Two things I would suggest for you to do. The first is to share your heart for witnessing with your small Bible Study group (if you are not in one, get in one, or start on), so that they can pray for you. The other is to check out www.wayofthemaster.com. I hope this helps, and I hope others will share also. Love in Christ, Mark |
