Bible Note: We are prevented from expressing the Christian life for several reasons. These are as varied as being ignorant of God's word to being ashamed to express Christian responses to worldly situations for fear of ridicule or persecution to just plain being willfully sinful by not doing things that we know that are right. None of these are good reasons. I can't think of any good reason to not let our light shine. I hear what you're saying though, we all fall short and sin. I believe that to not live our lifes for Christ and proclaim to be His is sin. We can effectively help and encourage one another through sound Bibical teaching, fellowship with other Christians regularly and often, personal Bible study, prayer and practice. It may sound trite, but the old saying that practice makes perfect can apply to Christian living. James instructs us to be "doers of the word and not hearers only". |
